Where My Heart Goes…

Almost every non-profit we’ve had the pleasure to partner with expresses frustration with the lack of attention their good works typically receive “We need to educate more people… why aren’t they listening?”

A cursory review of their marketing materials often reveals that little thought has been given to engaging an audience— here’s a prime example from a land conservancy: “Having vetted and affirmed acquisition and stewardship policies and procedures in place is a key component of protecting land in perpetuity.”

Before an otherwise disinterested public can appreciate this point, they first need to care, and that is where the the emotional power of an authentic story presented by video comes into play.

As Ingmar Bergman observed:

"No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and goes directly to our feelings…”

In keeping with that sentiment, philanthropist Paul Brainerd notes: “Where my heart goes, my money follows.”
